Three Bluefield State College students have been selected for Frasure-Singleton Legislative Internships for the 2020 session of the West Virginia Legislature. The students, Beniamino Zappia, Alexander Brugos, and Kevin Tickle, will work with a specific state senator or delegate for one week during the 2020 session, which lasts from January 8 to March 7
BSC Students Develop a Microprocessor Smart Robot-Vehicle
A team of four Bluefield State College students, seniors Mason Van Dyke and David Cavins, and juniors Caige Clark and Hunter Hill, selected and completed an innovative class project. They created a microprocessor-guided smart robot-vehicle, and in the process, cultivated technical skills that will prepare them for successful careers.

An audience of 450 James Monroe High School students and employees welcomed Bluefield State College faculty members Dr. Debjani Chakrabarti and Colin Cavell to its campus, December 3. Dr. Chakrabarti, BSC Assistant Professor of Sociology, and Dr. Cavell, BSC Professor of Political Science, addressed several topics related to World Religions during their presentations.
Richlands High School Wins 2019 BSC Humanities Challenge
Richlands High School won a suspense-filled title round match with Giles High School to win the championship trophy in the 7th annual Humanities Challenge at Bluefield State College. The Richlands and Giles teams won several rounds of the tournament-format event before reaching the finals, with the Blue Tornado outlasting the Spartans, 4-3, in the final round.

Artist Dr. Dotty Heady recently donated to Bluefield State College President Robin Capehart a beautiful quilt,celebrating the 125th anniversary of BSC's founding in 1895. Dr. Heady's quilt was given to the College in honor of her friend Dr. Robert Francis Hayes.
