Bluefield State College student Jeannie Dalton has been awarded a Judith A. Herndon Fellowship with the West Virginia Legislature for the 2020 session. Each year, only 10 students from West Virginia institutions of higher education receive the fellowships that offer the chance to work with elected officials during the upcoming legislative session.

Students and faculty from the W. Paul Cole Jr. School of Business at Bluefield State College participated in the Enactus Fall Collaboration Summit in Atlanta, GA. Representatives from 20 colleges throughout the Southeast took part in the event, which connected students, academic professionals, and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects.

Dr. Jacquelyn Madry-Taylor has joined the Bluefield State College team as Interim Dean, School of Engineering Technology and Computer Science. Her twin passions for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and for the students and regions they serve led Dr. Jacquelyn Madry-Taylor to accept the opportunity to become Bluefield State College’s interim Dean/School of Engineering Technology and Computer Science.

Bluefield State College will welcome the “Last Chance K9 Services” to campus on October 7 and 8 for career presentations. These presentations, which are free and open to the public, will take place in the Basic Science Auditorium, 9 am-4 pm both days. The “Last Chance K9 Services” presenters will be working in collaboration with several academic areas including psychology, sociology, business, and marketing.
